Two California Cities Make Realtor.com’s List of Hottest Zip Codes

Realtor.com has published its annual list of the nation's Hottest Zip Codes. The rankings are driven by market demand (viewers per property on Realtor.com) and market pace, or how fast listings on Realtor.com are getting snatched up by buyers.

The Golden State is not so hot, according to the data. Only two California zip codes made the cut. None made the top 20.

Bakersfield’s 93309 ranked 24th, demonstrating the attractiveness of affordability. In June 2023, Bakersfield's median home price was $340,000. That's well below the state median of $832,240.

Livermore’s 94550 — a much pricier area — came in 44th on Realtor.com’s list. The median home price in Livermore is $1.4 million. Talk about a contrast!

Nationwide, the hottest zip codes were in Gahanna, Ohio (43230), Southington, Connecticut (06489), and Ridgewood, New Jersey (07450).
