The City of Torrance is ending its 101-year membership with the League of California Cities, saying the organization has failed in its mission to advocate for local control of land-use and zoning issues.

The state is ramping up legal threats and punitive actions against local governments. 

Two days after his titanic victory in the September 14 recall election, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed historic legislation that essentially eliminates single-family zoning across the state of California.
