Ojai has hired a new interim administrator following the departure of City Manager James Vega, who recently took the same job in Port Hueneme.
Mark Scott assumed Ojai’s city manager duties as of Monday, July 17.
Scott has 33 years of experience managing municipalities on both an interim and permanent basis. He previously managed the cities of Downey; Lincoln; Indio; San Bernardino; Burbank; Fresno; Culver City; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Beverly Hills.
Scott “has the knowledge and experience to successfully step into this key role,” Mayor Besty Stix said in a statement.
“We wish James the best of luck with his new position and welcome Mark to the City of Ojai. Under his leadership, staff will continue its efforts to best serve the community.”
