The City of Glendale spans approximately 30.6 square miles with a population of about 203,054. Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is a municipal utility that serves over 34,000 water and 90,000 electric customers. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager – Water Services (AGM) manages the Water Services Division comprised of 60 FTEs, a $60 million operating budget, and a $12 million CIP budget for FY 2023-24. 

Deputy Director of Public Works

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is looking for an outgoing, innovative, and creative public works professional that thrives on being challenged with exciting and unique projects to join their team as the next Deputy Director of Public Works. The Deputy Director is second-in-command to the Public Works Director and is responsible for overseeing the City’s Capital Improvement Program. The work includes an annual update of the 5-year CIP as well as overseeing design and construction of the various projects.

Public Works Director

To coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and City Council.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives administrative direction from the City Manager and Deputy City Manager.

Exercises direct supervision over assigned management, professional, technical, maintenance and administrative support staff.
