Antioch Economic Development Director Kwame Reed was appointed Acting City Manager on Friday, June 23. Reed replaces Acting City Manager Forest Ebbs, who is leaving to serve as Deputy City Manager of Modesto.
Antioch’s top administrator, Con Johnson, was placed on administrative leave in March. Johnson is expected to be asked to resign or face termination, Bay Area News reports.
Reed has worked for the city since 2018. He previously served as Economic Development Senior Analyst for Brentwood and Associate Planner for the City of Oakley.
Reed holds a bachelor’s degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
